Malaga The major city of Andalucia costal areas and untouched by tourism, it is also the location for the international airport that services the Costa del Sol and surrounding areas. Malaga city itself is steeped in history going back to the mid 15th century, a visit to the Alcazaba Fortress perhaps which is now a fascinating archaeological museum or should Antonio Banderas take your fancy, then take a ride down his memory lane at the Theatro Cervantes. The Malagueños love to eat and there are a huge variety of restaurants and tapas bars for sampling. The nightlife in Malaga is renown for being vibrant, sometimes until the small hours. Before a night on the town, a touch of shopping may be the order of the day and Calle Lavrios is a great place to start – Malaga’s answer to Bond Street! The airport is situated approximately 6km west of the city, it is reached by the N340 Coastal road and the new toll road that runs all the way to Estepona.. Leaving the airport by car, stay in the left hand lane over the flyover for Malaga, Granada, Motril, Nerja and the Eastern Costa del Sol, and stay in the right hand lane for Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola, Marbella, Estepona, Sotogrande, Gibraltar, Cadiz, and all other points on the western Costa del Sol. We offer four different suppliers at the airport albeit Autos Benelux are a meet and greet service where you are taken by courtesy bus to the depot (literally two minutes) to get your car, Crown Car Rental, Europa and National Atesa all have desk facilities upon arrivals. Prices are fully inclusive and the local suppliers (Crown, Europa and Autos Benelux) offer rates with NO EXCESS / free delivery along the Costa del Sol is offer by Crown Car Rental only (please check the full details on the rates page) |
