Granada

One of my personal favorites..If you only get the chance to sample a little of Spain then I would personally recommend it being Granada. It is the home to the Moorish Alhambra Palace that stands in lush green surroundings and its romantic ambiance. The Palace holds far more history than I could begin to describe but from the moment you reach the gates you will feel captivated.

Albaicín is the medieval part of Granada famous for being the largest and most characteristic Moorish quarter in Spain. Here you will find the tiny Moorish baths, the Archaeological museum and from the Mirador de San Nicolás you can sample spectacular views over the Alhambra Palace.

Food and drink you will find in abundance, the more expensive restaurants are few and far between due to there being a large amount of tapas bars offering great food at very reasonable prices.

Granada’s international airport is situated 17 km west of the city on the A92 and should take approximately 30 minutes to get into the city, this journeys itself is enlightening passing rolling Spanish countryside, old towns and winding roads.
